Taylor and Joe's Perfect Microwedding
When Joe proposed in May 2019, in a T-Rex suit, in Taylor's first grade classroom, they never could have imagined that the wedding of their dreams would be affected by a worldwide pandemic.
But with the help of family and friends, they celebrated instead with an intimate microwedding at Joe's parents' house. And the day was perfect.
Taylor spent the morning getting ready with her parents and with her sister Amber as her hair stylist. Having a pro in the family certainly has its benefits!
I've never seen such a calm bride before. She was excited to see Joe, but was taking in every moment of getting ready with her family.
Meanwhile, Joe was getting ready at his parents' house with his dad, best man, mom, and sisters.
Cooper made sure that everyone was behaving.
We headed down to the marina in Kingston for the first look. Every time I do a first look with a couple, I fall in love with these moments even more.
I always cry.
Probably my favorite part about the first look is that the couples' portraits become a priority. It's your wedding day! And it's important to block off a big chunk of your timeline for photos of the two of you!
We headed back to Joe's parents' house, where they had transformed their backyard into a magical ceremony and reception site. Joe's Uncle Rock officiated the ceremony, and it was full of tears and laughter.
And it ended with a kiss that literally caught Taylor by surprise and swept her off her feet! (If you know Joe, are you surprised??)
This amazing day ended with an perfect dance and sentimental toasts from Max, the best man, Kelly (Taylor's childhood best friend), Taylor and Joe's dads, and Taylor and Joe's moms. It was the best way to wrap up this beautiful and meaningful microwedding.
A good marriage is about problem solving and getting through challenging times together. Together, you were able to tackle planning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic.
Taylor and Joe, may you forever feel the love that surrounded you on your special day.
