Senior Session : Theresa

Last fall, Theresa did her senior photo through the yearbook company, and while she felt it was fine for the yearbook, she really wanted to do a personalized session that documented her senior year.

She showed up fresh from the salon with her hair done and makeup applied. I had her arrive wearing her casual outfit, so she would be comfortable and feel like herself. She looked amazing!

Theresa told me she was nervous, and that she didn't take good photos. I had a hard time believing that! But we started off with some easy poses to get her warmed up.

I told her that there was no way that she could screw this up!

It wasn't long before she forgot how nervous she was!

She was rocking it.

Next, she brought her scrubs. I love when seniors bring something to wear that is meaningful to them! Theresa has been volunteering at a nursing home for two years. She loved that work so much, she is going be in the pre-med track at Northwestern in the fall, with plans to go on to medical school and become a doctor specializing in geriatrics.

Talking about her patients and her excitement for school in the fall just brought her to life.

Not only is she beautiful and smart, but she is also talented, too! Theresa is an accomplished singer who has been performing at local restaurants on the weekends. She even plays piano or guitar as she sings. She is hoping to start performing at wedding ceremonies this summer as well!

I asked her if she had considered majoring in music. Her reply was very similar to the one that we used to tell our actor-singer: "I figure that it is a lot easier to major in medicine and do music on the side than it is to major in music and do medicine on the side." She must have read one of my blog posts a while back about this very idea!

Like most local seniors in the class of 2020, prom has not yet happened. There are hopeful plans that it will still be held, but she asked if she could bring her prom dress to her session, just in case. Of course I said yes! I love prom gowns!

I always have my senior girls spin and twirl, because I love the laughs and smiles after.

Theresa, you were a dream to photograph. You are going places! Good luck at Northwestern and I hope that you follow your medicine and musical dream!

It's not too late to do a senior session! Once the governor lifts the restrictions, I will be photographing again!
